写真をやっていると言っていいものかわかりませんが、ともかく撮ってプリントし、それを作品として発表しています。画面の中からは出来うるかぎり情報やストーリー、あるいは思いのようなものを削ぎ落とすよう努めています。何が写っているのか、それがどこなのか、そのときどんな気持ちだったのか、そういうことを伝えるために作っているのではないからです。​

アートと呼ばれるものに使命があるとするならば、それは代替言語として感情や物語やコンセプトに翻訳されることではありません。生身の人間が決して触れることのできない意味以前の領域へと手を伸ばし、そこに秘められた燦きを掴もうとすること。そう考えています。

1979年生まれ。國學院大學文学部哲学科卒。 記号と認識をめぐる観点から2013年頃より写真を独学。

プリントの展示以外の方法で作品を公開しない。

I don't know if I can call myself a photographer, but I take pictures, print them, and present them as works of art. I try to remove as much information, story, or emotion as possible from the images. It is because  I am not making my images to communicate what is in the picture, where it is, or how I felt at the time.

If art has a mission, it is not to translate into feelings, stories, and concepts as an alternative language. It is about reaching out to a realm beyond meaning that flesh and blood can never touch and trying to grasp the light hidden there.

Keiichiro Yamazaki was born in 1979. He graduated from the department of philosophy in the college of literature, Kokugakuin University. Since about 2013 started self-studying photography from semiological viewpoint, he never publish his works in any way except actual prints on exhibitions.
