写真をやっていると言っていいものかわかりませんが、ともかく撮ってプリントし、それを作品として発表しています。画面の中からは出来うるかぎり情報やストーリー、あるいは思いのようなものを削ぎ落とすよう努めています。何が写っているのか、それがどこなのか、そのときどんな気持ちだったのか、そういうことを伝えるために作っているのではないからです。​

何もかもを捨て去ろうとしても残るもの、それは音楽に似ています。発された傍から消えてなくなっていく調べはそこに紐づけられた意味によって美しいのではありません。調和や均衡、その真髄といったようなものがあり、それは他者と本当には共有できないものです。

見かけの意味ばかりが氾濫し、見かけの共有に誰しもすっかり慣れてしまった現代において、人間の一人一人に自分だけの「枠組み」があることを示し、知性と感性の喜びを肉体の側に取り戻すこと。それが作家やアーティストと呼ばれる者の使命であると考えています。

1979 年生まれ。國學院大學文学部哲学科卒。

記号と認識をめぐる観点から2013 年頃より写真を独学。小さなモノクロプリントを中心に制作している。

​現物主義、秘密主義を旨とし、プリント以外の形で作品を公開しない。

I don't know if I can call myself a photographer, but I take pictures, print them, and present them as works of art. I try to remove as much information, story, or emotion as possible from the images. It is because  I am not making my images to communicate what is in the picture, where it is, or how I felt at the time.

Even if you try to throw everything away, what remains is similar to music. The melody that disappears as soon as be emitted is not beautiful because of its meaning. There is something like harmony, balance, and their essence that can not be truly shared with others.

Today, superficial meanings are overflowing and everyone has become accustomed to sharing just appearances I believe that the mission of men called artists is to show that each person has their own "framework" and to bring the joy of intellect and sensibility back to the body.

Keiichiro Yamazaki was born in 1979. He graduated from the department of philosophy in the college of literature, Kokugakuin University. Since about 2013 started self-studying photography from semiological viewpoint, exclusively he create small monochrome photographs.  For his emphasis on printed works and secrecy, he never publish his works in any way except actual prints.
